Description ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Schedule/Hours: Full-time This position is responsible for: Manages a league of teams for t-ball, soccer, winter basketball, football, and summer basketball. Schedules and supervises practices and games. Plans, coordinates, supervises, and implements athletic programs and activities, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures. Recruits and trains volunteer coaches.
Key Responsibilities: - Schedules and supervises practices and games.
- Ensures background checks are completed and all coaches are Safe from Harm trained and compliant.
- Leads a preseason training for all volunteer coaches.
- Communicates program expectations and schedules to parents of participants.
- Responds to complaints or concerns raised by coaches, participants, or parents.
- Responds to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Supervises and instructs employees and volunteers participating/leading participant activities; instructs and trains volunteers and staff in performing duties; ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.
- Plans and coordinates baseball, basketball, soccer and football teams, tournaments and leagues; plans and coordinates daily practices of the same.
- Maintains accountability and inventory of all sports equipment and uniforms, repairs equipment and washes uniforms.
- Manages the ordering of jerseys, trophies, and medals.
- Serves as Transportation Director for in-city and out-of-state events; drives Salvation Army vehicle to transport youth to athletic events. (Only for Hoops Council in Greensboro).
- Coordinates all officials, referees, and/or umpires needed for sporting events.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
- Ability to serve as an Athletic Coach and coordinate athletic games
- Ability to perform strenuous work, involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- Work is performed in a community center facility and outdoors where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or related field, preferred, and three years' experience planning and implementing athletic program activities.
Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
