Job Description

Seeking a Special Education Teacher with expertise in Autism for a middle school leave replacement position in Plainfield, NJ. This contract role is ideal for professionals experienced in supporting students with autism and specialized education needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and support to students in grades 6 through 8 with autism and other special needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and school guidelines
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent progress and a positive learning environment
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as necessary
• Maintain a caseload focused on middle school students (grades 6-8)

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or Autism Specialist credentials
• Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly within a special education/autism framework
• Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective instructional methods
• Ability to manage a caseload and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Commitment to fostering inclusive classroom environments
