Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a special education professional with expertise in Autism and a passion for supporting middle school students. The role involves covering a maternity leave contract, providing dedicated instruction and support to students in grades 6 through 8 within a special education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and interventions tailored to students with autism and other special needs
• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with students goals and educational standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and team members

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a focus on special education or autism spectrum disorders
• Experience teaching middle school students, preferably grades 6-8
• Demonstrated ability to implement specialized programming for students on the autism spectrum
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a caseload of students requiring individualized support

Location:

• Middle school setting in Piscataway, NJ

Contract Details:

• Maternity leave coverage from October 27, 2025, through March 13, 2026
• Caseload focused on students in grades 6-8
