Through this experience, Garver understands the complexities of airport systems held together by runways, roadways, facilities, and electrical systems that need to work in tandem to accommodate daily needs for travel and transport. As part of Garver's commitment to continued innovation in airport design, our Texas Aviation Team is dedicated to providing the expertise and leadership to assist our clients in meeting both current and future needs.

The Aviation Site Civil Project Manager will primarily be responsible for designing and managing airport land development projects. The Aviation Site CivilProject Engineer must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team, work with diverse clients, and produce complete design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, and narratives. Tasks associated with creating a set of construction documents include drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates. Research, coordination, project management, and staff management will also be expected. Design development software packages will be used, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design packages.

Responsibilities will include


  • Site feasibility and conceptual planning

  • Drive coordination and design for aviation clients

  • Perform periodic onsite construction observation duties

  • Construction Administration

  • Submit reviews for projects under construction

  • Detail-oriented and a team player with solid self-initiative to meet deadlines

  • Development of Plans, Specifications, Reports, Estimates, and other technical deliverables

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • PE license

  • 5+ years of related experience with site civil design, permitting, applicable software applications

  • Deep working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Design experience that includes drainage, grading, and utilities

  • Experience with due diligence, permitting, and jurisdictional coordination

  • Experience with task management, concept, design, and project management tasks

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients

  • Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)
