Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
The compliance specialist serves as primary contact for MFA participating lenders, realtors, master servicers, and consumers. The position directs all aspects of pre-closing compliance review of MFA’s various programs. Assists or serves as backup in post-closing Compliance/QC Review of all MFA loan programs for purchase, including MFA DPA, portfolio, pilot and specialty loan programs, including all relevant documentation, invoicing and file retention procedures.

• Performs and adequately documents the pre closing compliance file review
• Review and interprets documents associated with mortgage lending and underwriting
• Has a working knowledge of MFA’s single family programs Assists in processing loan amount changes, extensions and program changes as requested by the lenders
• Answering phone calls and assisting with general and technical programmatic questions or concerns from borrowers, lenders and Realtors
• Work closely with the Contract Service Provider to prepare the monthly pool reports for MFA
• May serve as back up to the Assistant Director.
• Serve as back-up for preparing and running required month end reports
• Review the Partners Program files and prepares them for purchase
• Serve as back up for the Lending Specialist in the daily DPA purchases and ensure data has been received and reports given to servicing
• Back up for Lending coordinator in their absence with the daily reservations and contact the lenders to insure the reservation has been done in its entirety
• Input income limit and acquisition costs changes for the Single Family and DPA programs
• Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Participate or facilitate technical trainings for participating lenders and business partners MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, and Finance preferred. Three years related work experience may be substituted for education.. A minimum of four years mortgage loan processing, mortgage loan underwriting or mortgage loan closing experience and four years customer service experience in high volume retail/service industry
