Direct message the job poster from The Ash Group Role summary We are seeking Senior Data Engineers with deep expertise in building scalable, cloud-native data platforms on AWS. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and implementing modern lakehouse architectures using AWS managed services, open table formats (Iceberg) and compute running in EKS/Argo Workflows environments. Responsibilities Design and implement lakehouse architectures on AWS. Build and maintain scalable, production-grade data pipelines using Python. Work with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, QuickSight, CloudWatch, etc. Gain experience with open table formats (Iceberg preferred), Delta Lake, or Apache Hudi; implement time-travel, schema evolution, and partitioning strategies. Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for data layering. Ingest, transform, and curate data while following best practices for data quality and lineage. Understand Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 2) semantics and implementation in distributed data systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tech leads, architects, product managers) and communicate clearly through documentation. Qualifications 4-5 years of experience in data engineering / AWS. Advanced Python engineering skills for data tasks; production-grade pipelines; modular, testable code. Strong familiarity with AWS lakehouse components and key services listed above. Experience with AWS Quicksights (preferred), Tableau, or Cognos. Experience with EKS-based orchestration (EMR on EKS or Argo Workflows) is a plus. Solid understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and curation best practices. Excellent communication and documentation abilities; able to work independently and with cross-functional teams. Nice-to-have DataOps practices and CI/CD for data pipelines. Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code. Exposure to data quality frameworks like Deequ or Great Expectations. Experience with Iceberg on AWS.
