Electrostatic Powder Coating Technician (Conveyor & Batch Booth)

Location: Gahanna, Ohio

Your day-to-day

You clock in and head to the line. Prints in hand, you review the day’s parts, plan your masking strategy, and prepare each piece with heat-resistant tape, plugs, and caps. With a steady hand and an Exacto knife, you shape crisp edges and protect critical surfaces. You load parts onto the conveyor, keeping pace with production while maintaining precision.

In the booth, you practice the craft of manual powder application—adjusting flow, distance, and grounding to achieve a consistent finish. Some days you’ll work a batch booth; others you’ll run the conveyor line. Throughout your shift, you’re on the move: stretching, reaching, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling as parts cycle through. You unload finished components, verify coverage against drawings, and ready the next set.

What you’ll do

• Tape/mask parts using heat-resistant materials; plug/cap holes and threads
• Use an Exacto knife and fine hand skills for precise masking
• Load and unload parts on a conveyor line or process in a batch booth
• Apply powder manually (non-automated) to meet quality and print specifications
• Read and interpret drawings/prints; retain process instructions
• Use common hand tools; apply ISO-aware practices where helpful

Physical and skill requirements

• Capable of continuous physical activity during a 10-hour workday
• Lift up to 50 lbs; typical prep parts range from 1–20 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and information retention

Background we’re seeking

• 2+ years of powder coating experience, preferably on a conveyor system
• Manual spray application background (not automated systems)
• Experience in a manufacturing or job shop setting
• Ability to accurately read prints/schematics
• Works well independently and within a team; follows instructions reliably

Schedule and pay

• Core schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:15 pm–1:45 am
• Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm
• Pay rate: $20.00 per hour
