- Explains department policies to staff and other concerned parties. Reviews compliance with established policies by personnel and Medical Staff. Periodically reviews policies and procedures and makes changes as necessary.
- Maintains compliance of facility with Federal, State and local standards.
- Meets with LTC Managers at regular intervals. Meets regularly with CEO on matters pertaining to department operation and external relationships.
- Maintains liaison with community hospitals and other health care facilities in community and coordinates with their services through working and transfer agreements.
- Represents the facility in transactions with outside agencies including governmental and third party payers.
- Reviews environmental and physical condition of facility. Directs repairs and new construction programs within the financial capabilities of the facility.
- Promotes good public relations in community, with Medical Staff and within the facility.
- Develops and maintains Emergency Preparedness Plan for the facility.
- Maintains and updates Everbridge website PRN.
- Completes Estate Recovery Forms and sends to DCH Estate Recovery Unit PRN.
- Maintains and updates the Facility Assessment per CMS regulations.
- Attends monthly board meetings.
- Reviews contracts within facility annually and PRN.
- Maintains Discharge/Transfer logs and sends to Ombudsman monthly.
- Completes cancer report monthly and PRN for GA Center for Cancer Statistics.
- Completes and submits NRC report monthly.
- Completes quarterly Provider Fee Report.
- Completes annual Nursing Home Questionnaire for DCH.
- Coordinates yearly resident, family and staff surveys. Evaluates results and creates plan to make improvements based upon the results.
- Updates and uploads Resident Case Mix Evaluation form quarterly.
- Oversees the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program for the facility.
- Attends meetings such as QAPI, Infection Control, Care Plans, Medicare and others. Oversees and directs these meetings as necessary.
- Meets monthly with DON, MDS, activities, social services, billing and compliance staff.
- Participates in education and training to promote knowledge and skills related to resident population served.
- Maintains waiting list for admission to Pavilion.
- Coordinates the admission of residents based on criteria.
- Reviews and discusses with all new residents and/or responsible parties, the policies and procedures, admission criteria, charges and payment methods, including information about Medicare and Medicaid.
- Assists the residents with claims questions and problems providing proper public relations for the facility.
- Monitors the resident fund account to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Meets with providers monthly and PRN to discuss any concerns, quality issues, etc.
- Completes department budget and oversees all areas to ensure that all departments are staying within budget. Monitors overtime, purchasing of supplies and salaries.
- Rounds on residents monthly and PRN to monitor for any concerns and/or complaints.
- Reviews all complaint and/or grievances from residents and families and resolves issues as they arise. Monitors for any type abuse or neglect and reports any allegations to the appropriate agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality at all time in accordance with Protected Health Information (PHI)
Education/ Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Nursing Home Administrator License.
- Maintain 40 hours of Continuing education in long term care related fields every 2 years.
Experience:
- Prior experience as a Nursing Home Administrator preferred but not required..
Physical Demands:
Employee is required to both sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Will be required to lift up to 25 lbs or more. Bending, stooping are all frequently done in a days work. The ability to think and work under stress, to tolerate being subjected to frequent interruptions and be willing to work beyond normal working hours as necessary. Requires communication ability (speak, read, comprehend, and write).
Working Environment:
Works in a climate controlled office setting.
Equipment:
Ability to use Office Equipment.
