Overview

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Master Painters for projects located in Newbury, VT. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate up to $28/hr based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:

• Perform a variety of high skill level residential painting for mill work cabinetry interior and exterior of homes
• Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
• Calculates amounts of required materials and estimates costs based on surface measurements and/or work orders
• Mixes and matches colors of paint stain or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistency
• Develops special finishing techniques such as sponging ragging layering or faux finishing
• Polishes final coats to specified finish
• Carefully removes fixtures such as pictures door knobs lamp hardware and electrical switch covers prior to painting
• Removes old finishes by stripping sanding wire brushing or using water and/or abrasive blasting
• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to work above ground level
