The Tooele City Police Department is accepting applications from individuals who desire to work as a police officer but are not yet certified. If you are already a POST LEO graduate apply under our Police Officer job announcement.
As a Police Cadet, your job assignment will be to attend the Utah Police Academy. You will receive full benefits from day one and a trainee wage of $25.25/hour. Upon graduation, you'll be promoted to Police Officer I, $29.52/hour, enter our Field Training Program (FTO), and work alongside our specially trained Field Training Officers (FTOs) as you learn how to safely and competently serve in your new official capacity.
As part of the selection process, you must complete a 1.5 mile run in 16:11 (normally completed outside); 30 seconds of planking; 14 push-ups (no timing requirement); and 14.5-inch vertical jump. POST graduation standards are higher and you must be able to meet their standards to graduate from the academy.
