About the Role:

As a Restaurant Hostess at Cove Haven Resort, you will be the first point of contact for guests entering our dining establishment, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression. Your primary objective is to ensure guests are greeted warmly, seated promptly, and their dining experience begins smoothly. You will manage reservations, coordinate seating arrangements, and communicate effectively with the kitchen and waitstaff to maintain an efficient flow of service. This role requires attentiveness to guest needs, the ability to handle busy periods with grace, and a commitment to upholding the resort's high standards of hospitality. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall success of the restaurant operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Basic computer skills to manage reservation and seating software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using restaurant reservation and seating management systems.
  • Knowledge of Cove Haven Resort’s services and amenities to provide informed guest assistance.
  • Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
  • Certification in hospitality or customer service training.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
  • Manage the reservation system, including booking, confirming, and organizing guest seating preferences.
  • Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and accommodate guest requests.
  • Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely seating.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve any seating or wait time concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and entrance area.
  • Assist in managing waitlists during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates to guests.
  • Support the restaurant team with additional tasks as needed to enhance overall guest experience.
