Hi, we're Catalyst Marketing Agency, a boutique marketing firm supporting small to mid-sized clientele in a wide range of verticals across the US. We embed into our client’s existing organizational structure, providing full-stack marketing support and resources.
We’re now looking for a part-time social media coordinator to work with our social team for about ten to fifteen hours a week. In this role, you will perform two main functions: Help plan, create, schedule, and publish content *and* build short-form videos for both our and our clients’ social media accounts. Tasks will include:
Helping to ideate and scope new content for social
Building creative and short-form video briefs
Building and managing editorial calendars
Interfacing with clients to fulfill content needs
Creating various post captions
Copyediting for grammar and punctuation
Ensuring that content speaks with the correct voice, tone, and clarity
Leveraging the latest new platforms, tools, and features
Publishing content on an as-needed basis
Light community management and engagement
Storyboarding content for video production
Editing short-form videos for all social media channels
Anyone applying to this role should have an experiential knowledge of content strategy and social media marketing that goes beyond managing a single account. That may include working with two or more clients or managing multiple employer and/or brand accounts simultaneously.
You must also be extremely comfortable with video storytelling. This means going beyond talking head videos. We are looking for someone who knows how to use post-production editing/treatments, creative transitions, audio optimization, and music/sound effects to deliver compelling and on-brand video storytelling that creates awareness and engagement. This may include using various AI or human-developed motion graphics/animation.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is passionate about building a career in communications, excited about jumping in and making an impact on our team, and familiar with the nuances of communication styles across brands.

To have in-depth experience with platforms like Premier, Resolve, and CapCut
To know how to format content for various social media platforms
Most importantly, you must be a great communicator. We are a fully remote agency working across multiple time zones and rely on team members to proactively participate in our task management process. Understanding where you’re at is vital, and being unable to get answers for days will become a problem quickly.
This would be a nice side hustle for someone interested in getting their feet wet while retaining additional full-time employment, going to school, etc. While the role is fairly limited in terms of hours to start, additional new business will likely open up additional part-time work or even full-time social media opportunities.
