OVERVIEW
The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations and short-term planning for current and upcoming projects. While writing some estimates and change orders are incidental to the role, the key purpose of this role is to foster teamwork, efficiency and profitability in the completion of our projects. This will involve accurate planning, project foresight, strong leadership & organizational skills, technical knowledge and adept communication skills between the various stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a working knowledge of all current and upcoming projects.
Reviewing project with Estimating and Ownership to understand scope.
Collaborating with Owners, Clients, and Scheduling Manager to plan schedules, resources, and timelines.
Ensuring materials, equipment, and manpower are available and utilized effectively.
Inspect work daily to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
Reviewing Subcontractor scope and performance sent by Clients.
Addressing any quality issues promptly and ensuring corrections are made.
Monitoring project expenditures related to painting activities.
Reviewing project punch list items and overseeing the items to completion.
Controlling costs by optimizing resource allocation and minimizing waste.
Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring a safe work environment by conducting project inspections regularly.
Communicating with clients or project stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and changes.
Addressing client concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Working closely with other construction trades and departments to ensure smooth project execution.
Working with Ownership to improve operating procedures.
Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
Knowledge and ability to enforce project safety requirements and OSHA construction standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Understanding painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, bilingual a plus.
Problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Ability to develop a team environment.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
Wear appropriate work attire, and PPE, per company policy.
Able to identify, investigate and communicate problems and be able to provide alternatives and consequences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have valid drivers license
3+ years of experience in construction, preferably with painting projects
Knowledge of painting techniques and methods
Able to read and understand blueprints
Bilingual
