Key Qualifications

1. Early in career or supporting role with design portfolio demonstrating clear potential in product design (especially for web), defining or extending design systems, and/or working within a brand's strict style guidelines.

2. Working knowledge of Figma. Prototyping and MS Office experience a plus.

3. Basic understanding of collaborating with web developers, including HTML and CSS.

4. Keen interest in championing brand identity through a balance of consistency and flexibility.

5. Proficiency in the formal elements of design, with a strong focus on typography, balance, and proportion.

6. Systematic problem solver; able to anticipate the impact of design decisions well in advance of their application.

7. Ability to articulate ideas verbally and digitally; be clearly understood by creative, product management, and development staff.

Description

1. UI Designer on the Product team works closely with UX and Development disciplines to contribute to considered and elegant design systems supporting the visual design of and select elements outside of Digital Studio.

2. This hands-on designer role balances creativity and logic, and helps ensure a holistic approach is thoughtfully applied across platform typography, iconography, and interface elements.

3. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience supporting product design projects, and contributes to positive collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members; a strong understanding of branding principles, style guides, and product design; an elegant design aesthetic, with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Develop design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives in a highly collaborative and iterative remote studio environment.

2. Balance strategic design goals with stakeholder business objectives.

3. Directly contribute to project design and development: create layouts / initial graphic concepts, conceive functional design solutions, create presentations and prototypes.

4. Collaborate with team members across functional disciplines (Brand, Visual Design, UX, Content Strategy, Development, Publishing, Experience Strategy).

5. Provide quality assurance of in-project creative deliverables.
