VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center is looking for Veterinary Assistants to join the relaunching of our Ophthalmology Department. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care-with the desire to make them happen.
As an assistant in our Ophthalmology Department, you will be working one-on-one with our board-certified Ophthalmologist in our industry-leading facility. Our nurses will be trained in intraocular pressure checks, Schirmer tear tests, accurate medical record keeping, patient restraint, and more.
Our assistants are active participants in all aspects of patient care, and critical thinking is encouraged. If you're itching to learn and grow, specialty medicine is for you!

- Comfortable with running appointments, obtaining histories, and keeping detailed medical records
- Articulate, dependable, hardworking, and compassionate
- Strong communication skills with clients and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
