Position Weather/News Anchor Las Vegas, NV | Full Time News Anchor Essential Functions Produces content daily for live newscasts and pre-recorded newscasts where applicable. Researches, investigates, writes, produces, and anchors general news or special news assignments—recorded and/or live from the studio/field. Produces newscasts rundowns. Works closely with Assignments Editor, Producers, MMJs and all other staff to ensure all stories are updated and fact checked. Ability to create original content and stories for daily newscasts when applicable. Attends and participates in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management. Weather Anchor Essential Functions Responsible for relaying the market's weather forecast and stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers, and conveys the brand. Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service as well as other meteorological sources. Create complete coverage of weather stories. Prepare and post forecasts for multiple platforms. Spearhead special weather coverage during severe weather events. Competencies Punctuality. Dependability. Excellent Communication Skills. Technical Capability. Ability to Work Independently. Fluency in both Spanish & English is a must. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 2 years’ experience as Weather Forecaster/Meteorologist. Must have experience with severe weather forecasting.
